The definition of the Tet Offensive of Vietnam is when the North Vietnamese released a series of attacks on January 31st 1968 against the Southern Vietnamese large cities and heavly populated areas. These attacks turned the war around for all of Vietnamese and was very hard for the South Vietnames to defend because these attacks were guerilla warfare operations and was almost impossible for U.S. troops to defend against. This is why it was such a turning point in history and left the South Vietnamese almost helpless. With the Viet Cong troops now in the Major cities and urban areas it was very hard for the u.s. and south vietnamese troops to hold off the warfare tactics of the viet cong. As soon as northern vietnamese were out of the battle field and now into more urban areas the whole war changed completely.
This shows Viet Cong troops moving into urban areas which changed the whole aspect of the war completely.
